The final leg of our trip included a stop in Hamden, Connecticut, where we visited great friends Greg, Ann, Mary Kate, and Ray, followed by time in Rhode Island with Greg’s mother, Jane, and sister, Judy.

Our Hamden visit featured two delicious meals (during which we learned that humans have four, not two, labrums!), a trip to the Basketball Hall of Fame by Gramps (Greg), E (Greg), and LPP (Ray), and some creative time as Ann and Melinda crafted zipper pouches for next year’s Kirkland and Hamilton College 50th reunions.

In Little Rhody, we “broke” Jane out of her nursing home for a wonderful Italian dinner—complete with a Dewar’s adult beverage—and ice cream. After staying at Greg’s brother Keith’s home, Jane, Melinda, and Greg picked up Judy for a scenic drive and more good eating.

We are now happily back in Jackson, feeling grateful for our time on the road. While the travels and destinations were terrific, the opportunity to connect with family and friends was even better. Having Melinda able to fully participate in biking, hiking, and other activities was a true highlight. Thanks to Stargazer for being our home, to all our hosts for their kindness, to Otto for being an amazing travel companion, and to all of you who followed along on our adventure. We’ll be sure to let you know when Stargazer next hits the road.
