Good Baseball & Great Friends

Good Baseball & Great Friends

The great Yogi Berra once said – “Love is the most important thing in the world, but baseball is pretty good too.” My good pal, Paul “Yogi” Franklin, is as excited as I am about the upcoming baseball season. His Yanks and my Sox are not picked to win the AL East Division but as Yogi Berra also once said – “The game of baseball isn’t over until it is over.”

Greg, Ray and I traveled the Minnesota Twins opening preseason game against the Red Sox. We met my great friends, Kathy Brady and Sarah Hoemberg. Kathy and I along with Cem Erdem designed Lumens, the leading continuing education and workforce development software system, and Kathy and Sarah have been instrumental in enhancing and selling Lumens.

Kathy, Sarah and Greg or a Twin being hugged by a pair of Sox!

The Red Sox won 1-0 on a home run to deep right field. The weather was perfect and our seats were in the shade. After the game Kathy and Sarah traveled back to Sanibel to break bread (and have a few adult beverages) with the Sanibel Gang. Sarah gave Melinda some amazing spun wool and me Don Mincher’s rookie card. You can offer me any outrageous amount for the card, but I am not selling it!

Melinda and I have been enjoying the beach and bike riding. Today we just missed seeing a bobcat, although we save a video of the bobcat approaching the ranger we spoke to.

  1. So much fun—baseball, adult beverages, delicious dinner and lots of laughter with great friends. Recipe for a perfect day.

  2. Great memories made!! Such a wonderful time. I’m not sure sharing the game score and outcome was necessary…alas.
