Heading West
Today we wrap up our visit to Sanibel. We have had a great time with Ann and Greg and were lucky Ray and Mary-Kate could join us for a week. The weather has been spectacular.
Highlights:
- Melinda finished a quilt she has been working on for almost five years. It is quite amazing!
- Greg and I recorded Tales of Peps & Gramps – some our most famous stories. Cory will handling final production.
- Otto got in lots of great morning walks. He chased after many a bunny and met some new friends on the trails.
- Greg, Ray and I joined Kathy Brady and Sarah Hoemberg for a Twins/Red Sox Spring Training Game. Looking forward to the baseball season.
- Melinda and I took lots of bike rides. Most fun was biking through J. N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge and siting different birds.
- Joyce and Huntley Allen from Jackson, NH joined us for dinner one night. They have been staying in the Sanibel Campground since mid-January.
- Caught up on reading. I focused on some non-fiction that has been piling up on my nightstand.
- Lots of grilling and great food paired with summer-like adult beverages.
- Rooted for the Providence Friars who made the Sweet Sixteen. A little better shooting and they might have made the Elite Eight and who knows!
The next phase of our trip takes us up the west coast of Florida, through Alabama and Mississippi, to New Orleans and then to Houston.
