On Thursday, March 16th (tomorrow) Stargazer heads west. Melinda, Otto and I will be on the road until Sunday, May 7th and our goal is to get to Portland, Oregon and back.

Since Stargazer’s trip to Nova Scotia last fall, we have been busy. While the snow has been inconsistent, we have been able to cross-country ski, snowshoe and hike with friends and family. We have had lots of visitors and we are making many new Jackson friends.

Melinda has been busy working with the Jackson Public Library, and together we have been preparing for a Memorial Day Weekend Library Book Sale. Last fall we cleared out another section of our yard, built a stone path, and will be planting when we get back in May. All family members will be in Jackson for end of June, beginning of July, so we are planning lots of Ralph Activities.

Stargazer will head to DC, then to the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, KY, followed by Arkansas, Oklahoma (visiting the Oklahoma National Memorial & Museum), Colorado, Utah (where we are staying with good friends, Susan Malkin and Jay Kelly), and then up the California Coast to Portland, Oregon (visiting Paul Franklin, Sandy Japely and Julia King Tamang). We would like to head home across the northern states, but who knows with snow.
