Jackson, Our Hometown
After 51 days on the road, 35 states passed through, 13 National Parks explored, multiple friends visited, and numerous state parks (Dead Horse Point State Park being our favorite) serving as hosts, we arrived back in Jackson, Our Hometown. We had an outstanding trip and truly appreciated our opportunity to travel and connect with friends and natural beauty.

I wrote the poem/song, Jackson, My Home Town for my show Music, Stories & Too Much Fun I performed with good friend Caroline Cotter last September. The poem/song was included as part of the Friends of the Whitney Community Center Annual Report and speaks to our love for Jackson. It is great to be back!

The trip from Milwaukee to Jackson was long days of driving. We listened to This Other Eden by Paul Harding. The story was better than the narrator (we were spoiled after Demon Copperhead), but left us with lots of questions regarding historical fiction. We visited Cuyahoga Valley National Park quickly, as CVNP was flooded and work was being done on various structures.

We drove through the lower part of the Adirondacks and spent our last night in Stargazer near Lake George. Stargazer gets a GREAT JOB for keeping us safe and warm (especially when I remembered to turn on the propane). Otto was a spectacular traveling companion and especially enjoyed hanging out with our treat-friendly friends.
As we drove up through Vermont and into northern New Hampshire on our way to Jackson we remembered the advice given by our friends the bison: stand your ground, have a tough hide, keep moving on, cherish wide open spaces, have a strong spirit, roam wild and free, and let the chips fall where they may!

A big thank you for all of you who followed our trip. Remember: The more we share, the more we have.
