Keeping Busy & Having Fun
Since my last post there has been lots going on:
1. Otto and I discovered multiple Asheville parks for walks and new smells. Richmond Hill Park was our favorite. Included is a Frisbee Golf Course utilizing lots of the Park’s wooded area.
2. Tori and Melinda have been working on knitting and quilting projects. They visited Friends & Fiberworks, a 4,000 square foot building/store with rows and rows of knitting resources.
3. I watched Chris cut the lawn. While driving from NH to NC we noticed many homes with very large lawns. I am soooo happy we decided that our Jackson, NH home would not have grass.
4. I hiked Graybeard Mountain (5,592 feet) and from Walker’s Knob and the top of Graybeard I had some amazing views. I loved that the trail switchbacked instead of just going straight up.
5. We have had a mixture of amazing home cooked and restaurant meals. Tori cooked an incredible lamb shank dinner (see photo below) and our favorite dinner out was at the tapas restaurant Curate including octopus. The sangria was incredible!
6. We have discovered lots more great art. We have purchased some new artwork that Melinda says will “pop” inside 28 Deer Run.
7. We went to the Sierra Nevada brewery/restaurant where our favorite beer was Hazy Little Thing. Melinda reports drinking more beer this week than she has consumed over the last five years.
8. We attended a Winter Lights celebration at the North Carolina Arboretum. There was a very well done and cute Storytime at Woodland Cove display about a bear that was told using a large book and window displays. Melinda made friends with a gnome with a real classy beard.
We are so excited to be celebrating Thanksgiving with Tori and Chris. We are thankful for the opportunity to visit them, as well as for all our family and friends we are not with.
