South Carolina Visit

South Carolina Visit

  1. We left DC on Monday and the drive to South Carolina was long, but not too challenging. We learned from Cory and Brendan a fast and easy way out of DC.
  2. We staid in Sesquicentennial State Park; just outside of Columbia. A great park with lots of hiking trails, pleasant staff, and much more.
  3. We visited Congaree National Park, one of the least visited National Parks in the country, where we hiked and saw loblolly pines. They are the oldest trees on the eastern seaboard. Congaree is also known for its confluence of synchronized fireflies. There is an annual lottery each spring to view them.
  4. Otto got in a lot of hiking. He worked so hard he requested a Dairy Queen doggy cup. Took us an hour to get him his treat, but he was one happy dog.
  5. While traveling to South Carolina we learned that Tom Brady un-retired. Melinda reminded me that was not an option for me.
  6. Each day we learn more about Stargazer. We had to make some technical assistance calls, but so far we have been successful.

  1. “Melinda reminded me that was not an option for me.” Way to go, soft-serve sister. Hold the line, girl.

  2. I’m stuck on the synchronized fire flies! I’ll have to add that to my bucket list!!
