Heading to Halifax
Stargazer heads back out on the road on Saturday, October 1st and will return to Jackson on Saturday, October 15th. Melinda, Otto and I will be heading up the Maine Coast (connecting with Jay Kelly and Susan Malkin along the way), then entering Canada and visiting Melinda’s cousin Jack in Halifax for Canadian Thanksgiving, and subsequently back to Jackson via Baxter State Park in Maine.
We have been busy since the Westport Book Fair. I went trekking in Scotland for two weeks. Melinda entertained her brother Michael’s family. Brendan and Katie joined us for a week and helped us with our First Annual Whitney Hill Block Party. Good friends Paul “Yogi” Franklin and Sandy Japley visited from Portland, Oregon and we traveled to the Maine Botanical Gardens. Mother Jane visited for a few days. We traveled (12 hours down and 12 hours back each in one day) to visit Ralph and the Gang.

Our big September activity was the Show I wrote, Music, Stories & Too Much Fun. Along with Caroline Cotter and Sharon Carpentier we turned Jackson’s Whitney Community Center into a radio station song and story competition. I told some of my favorite stories, but the star of the Show was Otto who told his version of the Bear Story. Lots of work, but even more fun and we raised over $4,000 to purchase a tent for the Jackson Public Library.

Keep an eye out for future posts and hopefully stunning fall foliage photos. Stargazer is back!
