The Only Correct Plural of Moose is Moose

One of Melinda’s bucket list items is meeting a moose face-to-face and up close and personal. On our last day in Canada, we did see a moose by the side of the road, but before Melinda could hop out of the car and hug the moose, the moose was gone. The following are photos of moose Melinda did snuggle up to during our trip.

Our last few days in Canada were spent on the New Brunswick coast. We first visited Hopewell Rocks where we saw some incredible examples of Bay of Fundy erosion. The next two nights were spent in the Fundy National Park where I did a Zen-like 10 mile hike – the sun dancing through the trees was breathtaking. We then bike rode the Wolf Point Road and got to spend time walking and collecting rocks on a remote beach during low tide.

The Fundy National Park is just outside Alma. We have been eating our own cooked meals this trip, so we splurged and ate out twice. The Octopus’s Garden had homemade pasta that rivaled The Thompson House Eatery. But our best time was with Charlie at the Holy Whale Brewery. Charlie, who taught school for 20 years, is now the Holy Whale’s brewer, and his Champ APA (American Pale Ale) is one of the best beers I have ever had. A tip off the cap to Charlie and we look forward to a future Champ visit!

On our way back to the USA we revisited (last year we spent two days) the Fundy Trail Parkway. A beautiful hiking, biking and driving passage along the Bay of Fundy. We then made it through Customs and are now back in the USA.

NEWSFLASH: The one item we brought back with us was a fly who found a way into Stargazer while we were at Fundy National Park. We have done everything we can to get the fly to fly away fly away home, but no luck. Otto will be jealous!

  1. What a great trip! So well planned. I’d love to do that zen walk with you. You two are inspirations.

  2. looks like an amazing trip, and if the weather there was anything like the weather we have had, you were fortunate. Safe travels back to Case NH.
