I’ve Been Everywhere – Johnny Cash
This post is being written from Nashville, TN where it is 60 degrees, while in Jackson, NH our friends are getting 24 inches of snow!
After four days of traveling, we are in the groove. Day One included driving past Utica and Clinton, NY where we both went to College and 20 miles from the Route 90 Exit the snows started to fall. The snows awakened many fond memories of snowy trips to Hamilton and Kirkland Colleges!
During Day One, Stargazer warning lights flashed on, so we stopped at a Mercedes-Benz dealership in Schenectady, NY and were told we could drive but should get the problem fixed. Monday at 7:15 am we have an appointment outside of Nashville.

Also during the evening of Day One while outside Rochester we had our hubcaps stolen. Again, nothing to stop our travels, but we didn’t know at 2009 Navion had such popular hubcaps! BTW: The night of Day One it also snowed 3 inches!
On Day Two from Rochester we traveled to the small town of Orwell, OH. We used Boondockers Welcome and stayed at a home where luckily we could plug into electric power, as the temperatures dipped below 20 degrees. Otto and I had a few great walks in a local cemetery where we found a gravestone from 1784.

From Orwell on Day Three we first traveled to Cincinnati where we visited an amazing potter and artist, Susannah Tisue – Marijoan and Chris Bull’s niece. Along with her 5 month old son, Henry, she toured us through her studio that was once a movie theater. We picked up some great pottery – a penguin drinking cup for me!

From Cincinnati we traveled to Walton, KY and stayed at an “OK” campground. Next morning, Day Four, we drove to Nashville, TN where we visited Parnassus Books – Anne Pachett’s bookstore and then pulled into the Grand Ole RV Park for a two-day stay, including showers!

Thanks to Bill Harley’s recommendation I have been listening to Andrew Hickey’s A History of Rock Music in 500 Songs. It is great and I highly recommend it. I am on Song 23!
Also for our Jackson cribbage friends, we have been playing cribbage every night in hopes of being accepted at the WCC Cribbage Tables when we get back!

Stay safe on those snowy roads! I bet it’s fun to see spring springing along the way. Love your visit to Marijoan’s niece. Hope you said, “Go Bearcats!” as you passed by UC (my alma mater).
