I’m A Little Quilter – Sung to Itsy Bitty Spider Nursery Rhyme

After a night sleeping in the LERN parking lot we headed back out on the road, but first stopped at a local Manhattan car shop and had our headlight fixed. 10 miles out of Manhattan Stargazer’s engine light was back on and we were headed to the Kansas City Mercedes Benz Dealership. Johnny Ace identified the problem and it was quickly fixed. Even with the treats Otto is tired of visiting MB Dealerships!

Next to Hamilton, Missouri – the home of the Missouri Star Quilt Company and J. C. Penney.

A full day was spent exploring the Missouri Star Quilt Company. Lots of incredible discoveries and purchases. While Melinda explored, I checked out the J. C. Penney Museum (without searching can anyone tell me what the C stands for) and Man’s Land (a space designed for people not passionate about quilt fabric and accessories shopping and education).

Part of the Hamilton, MO quilting experience is the Missouri Star Quilt Museum. Amazing quilt history, gadgets and quilts. Out front was the largest spool of thread in the world! Also Melinda had her picture taken with Jenny Dolan, the founder of the Missouri Star Quilt Company and a leading quilt guru – although Ann Baker can give Jenny a run for her thimble!

We are staying in a small RV Campground that is in walking distance to all of the action, including Kathy’s Kitchen. What did I learn –

Our next stop was the Rabbit hOle Museum in Kansas City, another highlight for Reading Specialist Melinda. From quilting to reading – WOW! The Rabbit hOle is the first museum of its kind in the United States. Spanning three floors, the Rabbit hOle brings countless works of children’s literature to life. The Director of the RhM, Pete Cowdin, is a friend of Bill Harley and we had a chance to chat with him. RhM just opened up to raving reviews by the NYT, but has been in the works for eight years!

So how many books can you name?

We are now headed through Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and West Virginia to connect with Cory, Kim and Ralph for the weekend! What an end of trip treat!!!!
