Kejimkujik & Back to ME

Kejimkujik & Back to ME

We spent two nights at Kejimkujik National Park (meaning Little Fairies); located south and in the middle of Nova Scotia. Our campsite was on Kejimkujik Lake with spectacular sunsets. The weekend before we arrived was a Halloween Event, thus the carved pumpkins. We hiked the Hemlocks & Hardwoods Trail along Big Dam lake and learned lots about hemlock trees. Then we biked 25 miles to and back from Eel Weir – a popular fishing and canoeing spot.

We rose early on Wednesday morning and traveled 11 hours to get to Houlton, ME. On the way we visited Burncoat Head Park, site of the world’s highest tides (52 feet). The Flower Pot Island below has been carved out by the tidal currents.

We have been VERY FORTUNATE with weather but we are seeing rain ahead. Hoping to get in some biking at Baxter State Park before the heavens open!

We loved our time in Canada and Nova Scotia. Everyone we met was friendly and did not bring up the name of our 45th President!
