Well I spoke too quickly. The morning after tossing bouquets at Stargazer for being an amazing ride, the troubles began. We woke up in the Grand Canyon and the parking brake would not disengage, the engine light was on, and our wheel sensors continued to not work. We figured out the brake, but had to travel to Flagstaff, AZ Mercedes Benz for repair support. The engine problem was identified and fixed, and this coming Monday we have to head back…
Time for a Stargazer shout out! We have traveled over 4,000 miles (lately MANY long and winding roads) and Stargazer has been a rock star. On the way from Sequoia National Park to Morro Bay, CA we passed the James Dean Crash Site Memorial as well as lots and lots of agriculture (oranges, olives, avocados, lemons and more). Saturday evening at the Grand Ole RV Park the Park was rocking. Every night there is live music and we had a great time listening to local talent and eating chicken, gravy and biscuits. Early Wednesday, March 20th, Stargazer heads back out on the road. Melinda, Otto and I will be traveling to Texas, California, Utah, Colorado and back to New Hampshire, arriving back May 8th. After almost three weeks of no rain, the rains returned. We arrived in Maine to sprinkles but learned that storms were brewing, so we made the decision to head back to Jackson – arriving late Friday afternoon just as the rains began to fall. For what it’s worth here are a few random thoughts from the road: Random Thought #1: Potatoes. The week we were in PEI was prime potato harvesting season. The number of potato trucks (and I am search of a toy potato truck to give Ralph for Christmas) we saw and passed was incredible.
