Saturday evening at the Grand Ole RV Park the Park was rocking. Every night there is live music and we had a great time listening to local talent and eating chicken, gravy and biscuits. Early Wednesday, March 20th, Stargazer heads back out on the road. Melinda, Otto and I will be traveling to Texas, California, Utah, Colorado and back to New Hampshire, arriving back May 8th. After almost three weeks of no rain, the rains returned. We arrived in Maine to sprinkles but learned that storms were brewing, so we made the decision to head back to Jackson – arriving late Friday afternoon just as the rains began to fall. One of Melinda’s bucket list items is meeting a moose face-to-face and up close and personal. For what it’s worth here are a few random thoughts from the road: Random Thought #1: Potatoes. The week we were in PEI was prime potato harvesting season. The number of potato trucks (and I am search of a toy potato truck to give Ralph for Christmas) we saw and passed was incredible. Each year approximately 2.5 billion pounds of potatoes are harvested and shipped to locations around the world. Mr. Potato Head is smiling! Random Thought #2: Two Books….
It is hard to believe but the eastern part of PEI is even more beautiful than the middle and west. We skipped Charlottetown for a future trip and first visited Victoria by the Sea and then arrived at Brudenell River Provincial Park (BRPP), our home for the next three days. For the last three nights we have stayed at the Twin Shores Camping Area on PEI’s Darnley Point. We are one of a few campers in a campground of over 700 sites (I am sure this place is rocking in the summer). We have a magnificent view of Darnley Basin and the Atlantic Ocean and enjoyed walking the beach (reminded us of days walking the Martha’s Vineyard beaches).
